Discover Stockholm with Nordic Freedom Tours – the original Free Walking Tour Stockholm that has shown thousands of visitors the real spirit of the city. Every day, our local guides welcome travelers right outside T–Gamla Stan metro station (exit toward the Old Town). From there, we wander through Gamla Stan’s colorful streets and squares on a fun, story-filled two-hour walk.

This isn’t just sightseeing - it’s a deep dive into the heart of Stockholm. You’ll see the Royal Palace, Stortorget Square, and Stockholm Cathedral, but also hidden alleys and tales that most tourists miss. Expect real stories, humor, and insights into how Stockholmers live today.

By the end, you won’t just know where things are - you’ll feel the city: its history, charm, and everyday rhythm.

The Route

Our typical route covers approximately 3 km and lasts about two hours. Comfortable shoes, curiosity, and good spirits are all you need.

When and Where

Time: Daily, according to the schedule. Tours go ahead rain, snow, or sunshine.

Meeting Point: Outside the metro/subway station T–Gamla Stan (exit toward the Old Town).

Please arrive 5–7 minutes before the start of the tour.

Look for the guide holding a sign that reads “NORDIC FREEDOM TOURS.”

The tour usually ends near the Royal Palace in the heart of Gamla Stan.

Important Notes

This tour operates on a tips-based model with mandatory tips after the tour. Participation is free, but all participants are required to contribute a minimum tip at the end of the tour. This ensures that our guides are fairly rewarded and that every visitor receives high-quality service and attention.

We kindly remind all participants that tips can be paid by any bank card or mobile payment method at the end of the walk. We primarily accept electronic payments for convenience and safety. Cash tips are accepted only in Swedish kroner (SEK) and should be considered an exception.

Please note that organized groups of more than five people (including schools, companies, and associations) are not permitted to join our daily tip-based tours.

Who Can Join

This tour is designed for adult travelers. It is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs due to the terrain and stairs along the route. For safety and respect to others, smoking, pets, and video recording during the walk are not permitted. Bookings are limited to a maximum of 6 persons per reservation. Group or agency bookings are not accepted.
